AUTHOR

I can't remember not wanting to write books. Especially children's books. That said, I didn't start until after I left my career job. And I didn't do any of it without help. I have always had partners in publishing, an approach that keeps things lively and fun.

Nikki Johnson is one of my partners in children's books. We met when she came to me with her first book project, Nightlight, a story about two little bears who see the northern lights for the first time. We went on to produce Agate and then One Gorilla. We are a good team. We both love books and language, and both of us are artists. As Nikki says, children's books are like mini galleries. So our collaboration runs deep, with lots of give and take.

Anna Skarie is my other partner in children's books. Anna and I co-wrote and co-illustrated Just Another Monday, winner of the Ben Franklin award for Best Children's Book. Anna's 3D modeling degree from Vancouver Film School uniquely qualifies her as a contemporary illustrator of children's books.

Sincerest thanks to all who love books in general and to all who have supported us and our books.
